Steampunks
Dreams of Steam
Our commrades from the east coast. Have hosted a number of successful Steampunk events with the promise of more to come.
Brass Goggles
A brilliant blog and forum arrangement where Steampunks gather from around the world and talk about cogs and stuff.
Glasgow University
GUGS
The Glasgow University Gaming Society (who's totem is some kind of malformed crocodile for some bizarre reason) have been a staple of Glasgow University life for many a year and are a must for anyone with tabletop gaming or brightly coloured cards on the brain.
Also, they are the hosts of CONFLAGRATION, their annual convention, which this year will feature all the societies along the axis of geekdom, including ourselves.
GUMAF
The Glasgow University Manga and Anime Fandom Club.
CDS
The Chivalric Dream Society. For anyone who thinks our historical-ness just isn't old school enough.
IO
Glasgow University's Science Fiction and Fantasy society.
the other GUESS
The Glasgow University Earth Sciences Society. They look at rocks and stuff.
Other people we like
Britannia Panopticon
The very lovely hosts of our Glasgow By Gaslight event and a genuinely marvelous building. All under the watchful eye of the delightful Judith:
Britannia Panopticon Music Hall is the oldest surviving music hall in the UK (if not the world- please let me know if you know of an older one). Founded in 1857 on the Trongate in Glasgow, Scotland, the Britannia quickly became famed as being the most popular place of amusement in the city and 1500 people would cram themselves onto wooden benches for every show.
Sarasvati Tribal Fusion Bellydancers
A magnificent conglomerate of very talented you ladies who were a genuine spectacle at Glasgow By Gaslight, and one we hope to witness many more times.
Project Gutenberg
A fantastic repository of eBooks. As the majority of the collection are books who's copyrights have run out in the US - if you want to redistribute the work in the UK you'll need to check the UK copyright laws. Typically for literature this is 70 years after the authors' death. Which is perfect for us.
